Country music singer Tyler Rich is shaken after discovering a dead body during a New Year's Eve run in Massachusetts park.

In speaking about the incident on Twitter, "The Difference" singer said he was jogging in a wooded area at Chicopee Memorial State Park  when he thought he saw a homeless man asleep. Tyler continued on his run, but came back to check on the man and realized he wasn't breathing.

"As I get around to the front of him, all I see is a lifeless face covered in blood. Everywhere," Tyler tweeted. "Looked like maybe shot, or blunt force. At this moment, I freak out and sprint up the steep hill to try and find anyone with a phone to call police."

The man, Tyler presumed, hadn't been there long.

After speaking to police, Tyler was informed that a gun was found on the man, leaving officials to suspect that he died via suicide.

"Not that there is any type of thing that could help me cope with finding him like this," Tyler said. "But, for sure knowing he wasn't there discarded by someone else, and that he was there where he wanted to be, will at least put me a little more at ease."

It's been "a rough 24 hours," Tyler noted, later adding, "He looked like a young, normal kid. Someone with a family probably wondering where he was."

20 must-read health books
