These 100% silicone bags have been on Amazon's best-seller list for a while, and for good reason. Not only are they a more sustainable option, these leakproof bags are also safe for the freezer, microwave, dishwasher, and boiling water a.k.a. perfect for your lunch-packing, leftover-saving, and sous-vide-cooking needs. Unlike disposable plastic bags, these zip-lock options can be used over and over again (as long as your kid remembers to bring them home, of course).

One Amazon reviewer even put their leakproof claim to the test. "The Stasher bag protects the content from leaking or encroaching spillage, which wipes away easily," wrote one reviewer. "I filled it 1/3 with water and placed it upside-down for 4 hours, and the bag did not leak. Needless to say, the seal is great and easy to operate, even for school-aged kids. It is flexible but keeps its form." Even if you use the bags to store liquids or something sticky or dare we say smelly, you can simply pop them in the dishwasher and they're as good as new.

Parents, especially, rave about how the different size options — Stashers come in 5 sizes and 11 colors — make packing lunches way easier.

The Good Housekeeping Institute is also a fan. “In our Kitchen Appliances Lab’s test, the Stashers were more airtight than other reusable storage options like beeswax wrap,” says Betty Gold, senior editor and product analyst. “And we love that they are a greener alternative to using disposable bags.”

While you may have to initially splash out on these reusable, bags, they'll eventually pay for themselves. Month after month, you won't have to run to the store and pay anywhere from $5 to $10 for a box of plastic baggies. Nope, you'll have a permanent collection of environmentally-friendly bags stashed and ready to go.
